Design QA Inspector Privacy Policy Effective now

Design QA Inspector Privacy Policy

Design QA Inspector is a local-first browser extension. It runs on pages you explicitly activate and keeps review data on your own device.

What data is processed

When you open the side panel on an active tab, the extension may read page URL and title, DOM structure and selectors, computed styles, and any screenshots or HTML reports you choose to export. Notes and QA edits you enter stay under your control.

Why these permissions are requested

Chrome DevTools Protocol (debugger)

The optional Advanced Style Source feature attaches the debugger API only after a clear user action, uses it solely to read matched CSS for the selected node (no network interception or remote code), and detaches when you leave that view or close the panel.

Local storage and exports

Notes and temporary QA edits can be stored in chrome.storage.local on your browser profile. PNG and HTML reports are generated locally and saved via Chrome Downloads when you choose to export.

No sale or third-party transfer

Your controls

You can clear extension data in Chrome settings and remove exported files from your Downloads folder at any time.

Changes to this policy

Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date when material practices change.
